My latest design.
This was the first time I’ve made a circular pattern into a square!
I will put the pattern link up once it’s published on LoveCrochet.com – you can find my designs there, and my name is just Immika there.
This morning I started a little crochet and wanted it to be different. Lately I have progressed to the advanced level of crochet so I threw some of those stitches in and went with the flow. The end result surprised me!
Later on today after lunch, I thought I’d better write down the pattern. I picked this up, looked at it, turned it over and looked at it more, but I could not remember how I did it!!!!
Not getting too worried, I grabbed my yarn and hook, a pencil and notepad, this first Xanadu, and got started.
In it I use the Jacob’s Ladder, but in the first one it wasn’t right, so this time I made sure I got it right, and then the pattern evolved of its own accord…
Now it is complete, and here is the photos:
And now here is the pattern!
I used DK yarn and a 4mm hook.
You will want to use 4 colours to achieve the same look as I did, but it’s up to you.
UK terminology used throughout.
Row 1
Using colour A, ch 3, ss in third ch from hook to make a ring.
Row 2
ch 4, (htr, ch 2) 7 times in the ring, join with ss in 2nd ch of beg ch. 8 htr, 8 ch 2 spaces.
Row 3
beg dc in same st, ch 9, (dc in next htr, ch 7) all the way around, ss in first dc, fasten off. Change to colour B.
Row 4
beg dc in any dc, (ch 7, dc in next dc) all the way around, ss in first dc, fasten off. Change to colour C.
Row 5
beg dc in any dc, (ch 7, dc in next dc) all the way around, ss in first dc, fasten off. Change to colour A.
Row 6
beg dc in any dc, (ch 7, dc in next dc) all the way around, ss in first dc.
Row 7
Now you will proceed with the Jacob’s Ladder, pulling through all those hoops, colour A will at the top when you are done.
If you need help doing this, click on this link:
Row 8
(beg dc, dc) in top loop of any ladder, ch 3, 2 dc in next top of ladder loop) all the way around, ss in first dc.
Row 9
Working colour B in Row 5 now, find the shortened parts of the ch 7 with a dc in the middle. (Pick up the chain of the first half, dc around it, dc in the next dc, dc around second half of ch 7 ch) and repeat this around, ss in your first dc. Fasten off and change to colour D.
Row 10
Working in row 9 now, beg dc in ch 4 sp, 4 dc in same sp, (dc in next 3 dcs, 5dc in ch 4 sp), repeat around, ss in top of beg dc ch. Fasten off and change to colour B.
Row 11
Working Row 2 now, pick up a ch 2 sp ch, beg dc, ch 2, (2 dc, ch 2) in each ch 3 sp. Fasten off and change back to colour B.
Row 12
Working back in row 9 now, beg tr in any dc, (6 tr in ch 4 sp, tr in next dc) repeat around and ss in top of beg tr. Fasten off and change to colour A.
Row 13
beg dc in any tr, (tr, ch 3) in same st, (dc in next 2 tr, ch3) repeat around, fasten off and weave in ends.
